Mission & Profile

 

WIA Profile:
The Wisconsin Innkeepers Association (WIA) is a non-profit trade association representing hotels, motels, resorts, inns, vacation homes, condo hotels, and bed & breakfasts throughout the state. The Wisconsin Innkeepers Association has been serving the lodging industry since 1896 by providing education, marketing, governmental affairs and information services to more than 1,000 lodging property members.

Mission Statement:
To provide services and benefits for members to improve the profitability and success of the lodging industry in Wisconsin.

Membership:

Approximately 1,000 Lodging properties and more than 200 Vendors/Associates, CVBs/Chambers of Commerce, Corporate Lodging, Educational Institutes and Students.

Governance:
37-Member Board of Directors:

  • 6 Officers, elected by the full Board
  • 24 Lodging Representatives with a minimum of 7 from each of 3 property size categories
  • 5 Associate (Commercial, Educational, Institution) Representatives
  • 1 Student Representative & 1 Legal Counsel
Plus:
  • 6 Official Local Chapters
  • 1 Student Section Group

Administration:

  • WIA's home office is based in Brookfield at I-94 and Moorland Road
  • Eight-person staff led by WIA's President/CEO Trisha A. Pugal, CAE
  • WIA retains a contract lobbyist team based in Madison and a lodging legal counsel based in Milwaukee
  • WIA's annual budget is approximately $1 million
